Shanghai, January 21, 2025 -- Montage Technology announced today that its CXL® Memory eXpander Controller (MXC) chip has passed the CXL 2.0 compliance tests and has been added to the CXL 2.0 integrators list. This marks another milestone in product compliance, following the company’s inclusion on the CXL 1.1 integrators list in 2023.
The CXL 2.0 compliance testing organized by the CXL Consortium aims to validate the functionality and interoperability of members’ solutions. Testing spans four key categories: interoperability, protocol compliance, CXL Verification (CXL CV), and electrical specification, with comprehensive metrics for each category. Thanks to its excellent performance and outstanding interoperability, Montage Technology's MXC chip successfully passed these tests, securing its position on the CXL 2.0 integrators list.
The pass of this test indicates that Montage Technology's MXC chip fully meets the CXL 2.0 specification in both functionality and interoperability, providing customers with a reliable foundation for deploying CXL solutions. Notably, global memory leaders Samsung and SK hynix were also included in the CXL 2.0 integrators list, with their tested products incorporating Montage Technology's MXC chips.
As an emerging high-speed interconnect technology, CXL has garnered significant industry attention since its introduction. Ongoing rapid advances in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and cloud infrastructure are driving manufacturers to leverage CXL technology for memory expansion and pooling, effectively addressing system memory bottlenecks.
